About Bob Arrington

Diagnosed early in life as an incurable “aquaphile,” Bob Arrington finds most of his happiness on, in or under the water. With over 50 years of boating experience on the Great Lakes, Chesapeake Bay and off-shore waters of the U.S. Atlantic Seaboard and Caribbean, Bob Arrington has a lifetime of experience on the water.

Living and cruising aboard Liberdade provides Bob the opportunity to share his experience with boaters, boat builders and marine product manufacturers.

A teacher and a storyteller at heart, Arrington shares his love of the water as a writer, marine industry consultant, boating educator, and boat training captain. He and his photographer wife Dori, cruise extensively aboard their trawler, looking for the next story to tell.

Bob holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master’s License and STCW Certification.

First, let me say “THANKS!” for a wonderful class. You definitely made learning enjoyable and comfortable as we learned and practiced our new skills. You are truly the hallmark of an exceptional teacher.

Thank you Bob! I have (ok my boat has) already benefited from your seminar. Great job!

Just a quick shoutout to tell you how much so many of us appreciate your participation in these events. You do a wonderful job of representing all aspects of the trawler community. Anne and I to this day continue to talk about your kind advice that early morning in Charleston.

- HALE W.

Thanks for a very educational seminar. I attended, not as a boat owner, but as a private pilot. I travel to the Bahamas often and found your seminar quite useful.

- DAVE W.

Thank you for providing the class. Following your class we updated our ditch bag and also had purchased different life jackets.
